Daddy’s New Girlfriend

I was having a twittersation (Chat via twitter) with my girl Keda the other night and it all started when she mentioned how she finds it disrespectful when a brother tries to “holla” (pursuit her) right in front of a kid. I see things differently. Call me a hopeless romantic but if you think you see Mr. or Mrs. Right and you just so happen to be with your child(ren) I don’t see why one shouldn’t pursuit him/her. Hey, Daddy needs love too! And if Daddy looks anything like Will Smith I don’t mind being the new Girlfriend/Step Mother prospect.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s not like I don’t see Keda’s point. There are some dudes that make it their M O to seek women while walking with their child(ren). Probably using them as bait.  It happens all the time especially if the kid is cute. You might become distracted and subconsciously you feel like if you reject the Dad its like you are rejecting the cute kid. I like to call it The Adam Sandler Method*. I know I fell for it a couple of times what about you?

Where do you  REALLY stand on this issue? Should a father be on the prowl while spending time with his children?

*I was referring to Adams Sandler movie “Big Daddy”

August 19th marked Bebe Soho’s First Annual Fall Collection Preview Event. We basically invite all our best clients to come on down with a Vip Pass (big discount) and get first dibbs on the goodies. There’s refreshments, a dope dj. It’s a fun shopping experience. Who wouldn’t want to dance while drinking champagne and trying on fabulous boots and dresses? I myself am wearing a dress from our Addiction collection . The dress looks much better in person. You can’t tell from the picture that it’s a shimmery heather gray with metallic threads. The gold studs and zipper down the back really make it pop. Also it has bold shoulder pads that you can’t really see under all my hair.

I also purchased from our Fall line a  Zebra Print Dress because I’ve been feeling tribal these days, these Yasmine boots I wore last week to La Pomme, and I’m waiting for these Kardashian boots to come out!! Click the link to see my future fashion love. If you’re interested in anything let me know when you want to set up an appointment at my store. I would love to meet all my REAL readers in person and style you up.

XOXO

I bumped into my homeboy Jason in Soho, NY wearing my fav color PINK. I got off of work early and didn’t have any plans, and he happened to be free as well so we decided to catch a movie.

Please don’t get any ideas people. It was still daylight outside and in my book it wasn’t a date. Before 9 it’s still Friendship Time.  You like that rhyme right? Wait I got another one, after 10 is trouble hours.  Ok that didn’t rhyme but IT’S TRUE! Any time a male and female hangs out after 10pm things are more likely to go down. Anyways I digress….

So we saw Salt. For me it was the second time so I fell asleep… Jason liked it and you would think we would spend time talking about the interesting plot but no. As we rode back to Brooklyn together we talked more about relationships than the movie. You know the usual stuff. Ex’s, potential suitors/prospects.  Speaking of prospects, his twitter name is @ChasingJason and ladies, that name is not for show. He gets more females wanting to date him then the latest Bachelor. But I see why girls go crazy. He’s tall, dark, handsome, with a good job and that Soldier Boy appeal (Beyonce reference). So if I just made you fall in love too, join the rest of the other 101 women in New York that are Chasing Jason.

Hear Me Roarrrrrr

So I hit the streets of New York in 80z fashion: a thin leather and big hair. I was inspired by the Movie Coming To America when I chose the hairstyle.  I wanted to go all African since I was wearing this tribal print hence the make-up.I think the makeup is a necessary part of a LOOK when creating a fashion statement so I decided to have fun with it a little bit and here is the end result.I plan to do this look again in a photoshoot. This little home Camera Phone shoot was my practice. I will beat my face harder and bring more FEROCIOUSNESS ROOAARR! I love it! lol

My softer side, call me Nahla lol

A little about the makeup.

  1. I used Mac White Frost eyeshadow, black pencil and a little imagination. My eyes have a natural dark ring around it so  dont be fooled, I have no clue how to blend. I didn’t have to add anything to the creases.
  2. Maybelline Falsies Mascara and Make Me Pink Lipstick mixed with Pink Sand. I really wanted a nude lip instead. Can anyone suggest a color?
  3. I wanted my cheek to be more orange so if you do this look don’t do that color. The blush brush I used still had rouge in from the last time I used it. It looks ok but not what I wanted and it was already too late too start over so I went with it.
  4. I just got my eyebrows done so that’s why they look so fresh but I added a little Mac concealer right around the brow line to add some definition.
  5. My nose, NOT THAT STRAIGHT! I applied Black Radiance Velvet & Glow Bronzer just at the center of my nose and BOOM instant nose job.

Well that’s all I got to say about my face! I’m sorry I don’t have any full length pictures so you can see what I was wearing, or any pictures with my friends because honestly readers, I didn’t have any fun. When you are not having fun why would you want to take pictures to remember a wack memory? We went to a “club” that was the size of my Ex-Boyfriends studio. Drunk bitches falling on me all night. Aggressive guys coming on to me. I left the club with a headache with all the focusing I was doing. I had to make sure I move out of this ones way. I had to watch my toes so they wouldn’t get stepped on. I had to was keeping eyes out for the cuties. YES,  it was a lot of work. I got so pissed at one point I started to scream. And the whole club might of heard my roar too because remember it was that small. So in conclusion, you guys can scratch CV in the Lower East Side off your list of Hot Spots on Fridays because it’s NOT! I know some promoters hate me right now but oh well. I gots to keep it REAL!

Learn How To Dougie By ChrisBReezY 3:07

I went on Youtube the other day to look up Dougie Tutorials and I couldn’t for the LIFE of me find a good one. A bunch of joke dancers on there so after a while I gave up. I know it may sound corny to some that I went online to learn how to do a dance but I HAD TO!  I love dancing and learning new forms of movement. When I was in grade school I was always expected to know all the dances and teach everybody. After High School, I still was on it!  I became a Dance Instructor and had my older dance students keeping me hip. But now that I’m not doing that gig anymore,  I AM LOST! I needed help and I found it!

I went on NecoleBitchie.com there it was, a new post on Chris Brown doing the Dougie at his Premier After Party (FFWD to 3:07). I love Chris Brown because he makes it his duty to learn all dance styles. He could come to any part of the State and blend in at the night club or Block Party. Well let me just speak for New York. In my opinion he dances just like the boys around here. I’m not from Dallas so I don’t know if his Dougie is perfect but I will be doing it like Mr. BReezy until I am taught otherwise.

Strawberry Dance Breaks…

I went to Club La Pomme with friends for an afterwork event then took an intermission for food at BBQ’s. We ate ribs, wings, cornbread, sipped on some Strawberry Daiquiris, then it was back to shaking our booties at Club Marquee with Dj Kaos on the 1′s and 2′s. It was a good night expect for one encounter with this “gentlemen” who found himself passing me and letting his hands linger a little too long around my waist and buttocks while I was walking through the crowd. I really don’t  take too kindly to disrespect or touching from anyone I don’t know. Just because we are in a club setting don’t take it upon yourself to touch me in an inappropriate manner. You wouldn’t do it in the day right?

I then grabbed his arm and asked “Do you know me?” Long story where I got that phrase from. Anyways, he didn’t respond and I said “THEN DONT EVER TOUCH ME LIKE THAT IN YOUR LIFE.” Gave him a nasty look and proceeded to walk towards the bathroom. If he was to pop off you know how I do (if you read one of my old night adventures) SECURITY!

After that incident I was the one getting the nasty looks. Turns out the table I chose was right next to his. I caught him whispering to his homegirls, pointing at me and laughing. I must of really hurt his ego because he wouldn’t let it go. This went on the whole night but I was cool like whatever, “RUN AND TELL THAT HOMEBOY!” Ok that phrase doesn’t come with a long story so I will share the joke with all you lost people. Just CLICK THIS LINK to watch this funny youtube video then come back and finish viewing my photos of me and my girls of course :-)

FLickin in THe Chineese Store

I was at work and in walks my boys/former co-workers Darren and Christian. They came to embarress me and let the whole Bebe know that I really am from the ghetto in  Brooklyn. Not intentionally, but of course they knew when Christian walked in with a fitted cap and yelled “MIMI LOUBEAU!” across the store. He might as well yelled “HOODY HOO!”

So after they completely ruined my professional image we talked about our plans for the evening. I mentioned that I might want to go out. Darren said he wasn’t trying to go out because his birthday was coming up the next day and he didn’t really want to be burned out the night before he  had to host a party. After a while I convinced him to come out.

See I was going through some boy problems and I needed to “get my body moving shake the stress away.” I would have went out with my girls but girls take too long to get ready and make up thier minds sometimes. Darren and Christian for some reason were carrying clothes in their back packs. They borrowed one of my stores fitting rooms and in minutes they were ready to roll.  Me, myself didn’t feel like going home to dress up. I  wore the same Bebe off the shoulder Tye dye top you see above with my Tristas. It wasn’t a problem anyways. You see in New York the more modelesque you look, the less you have to dress up for the club. The Velvet Rope is that simple. Sorry to say but that’s the reality of it all…

Well how did we end up in the chinese store?
We GOT HUNGRY DUH! But trust me, Chinese was not our first option. One of our promoter friends Jacob, was hosting a dinner at this place on 10th Street called Veranda but when we got there the kitchen was closed so we left the venue and found this Chinese spot (that I won’t mention because the food wasn’t even that tasty).

Anyways so much more went on that night. Even after the club we went to an AFTER AFTER house party in Brooklyn. We wilded out. We danced. We got real and talked about relationships. We rolled blunts. We watched that Lil Fishburne porno/music video debut (SOO BAD). Stay tuned because I got some videos of my own to show you. Not nasty so get ya mind out the gutter!!!

Mimi L.

Pretty Bad In Pink

Well, it was another fun night at Juliet and these are pictures of me posing inside and a block down from the venue. This kind of became my trademark pose by accident. I’m like Michael jackson, I like grabbing my parts. It’s a celebration of my womanhood! Do I offend you? Who cares if I do I’m “BAD.” Don’t let the girly color fool you.

I found out a little while ago online that singer/fashion Icon Solange Knowles picked up a new interest in djing. When I heard she would be at Oak I had to go and see how she spins.

She brings the 90s flavor into her set spinning the best Biggie, Mary J, Lauryn Hill and Jay-Z. She didn’t play long enough for me to get a real feel for her taste but from that little session I see that she’s all about the good classics.

I think it’s great that we met that night because I was rocking my natural locks and it was she who mainly inspired me to not be so reliant on fake hair and consumed with what Mainstream society perceives to beautiful. I could never step foot out the house without at least some weave. Now weave is a CHOICE for me, not a necessity.

I’m wearing a Bebe Studded T-shirt zipper dress and the earrings, also bebe.

Sequined Tall Doll

This was from a shoot I did a while back with photographer Slinky. I never posted them because I was waiting for the retouched/higher res images but OH WELL..When (if) I get the better images I will replace them but in the mean time ENJOY

The stylist grandmother passed away so this shoot was kind of like an ode to her. I was styled in vintage pieces straight from her deceased grandmothers closet and other random vintage vendors. I think I look like a tall doll dressed in sequence hence the name of the post.

I also did a bridal shoot that same week but I will never show those pix. I want the only Poofy white dress I’m photographed in to be my weddingdress. Still waiting for my prince… *Sigh
